Eulogy

John Francis O'Rourke left his native Leitrim (Ireland) at the tender age of 16yrs. to seek employment in London..
He worked as a Foreman for many years with Bisons and Corcorans. John kept close contact with his family back home and took a very keen interest in his beloved Aughavas GAA as he had played on the 1957 minor football team, winning league and championship on that year.
One night when John went dancing to the Galtymore he met Madge Duffy and love soon blossomed . They returned to Ireland to wed in Virginia, Co. Cavan on 16th August 1969. They returned to London to share their future and raise their family. In later years they returned to settle in Virginia Co. Cavan.;

'John's favourite poem called After Glow:

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one,
I'd like to leave an After Glow of smiles when life is done,

I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days,

I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done

May Heaven Be His Bed
